8 down, 160 to go

Howdy, kids. I was just reflecting on the fact that my official 24 week training program for the 3 Day is entering its 9th day today. Sometime today, I will have to walk 3 miles. I got up way too late to do it before work…and tonight I have practice for band. I could do it in between work and practice…but the forecast is saying that it’s going to be 107 at that time. Guess it’s going to be after practice…hopefully it’ll be under 100 when I hit the sidewalks.

I’m noticing that I have a bit more physical exhaustion than I’m used to. The cool thing is that it’s not like before, where I just didn’t know how I was going to cope. Part of me thinks “well, Bubba, couldn’t you just take it easy for a while so you’re not so pooped?” I have to keep telling myself that once I get into better shape…I won’t be so tired, and I’ll be a lot healthier. I also am a bit discouraged because I’m not losing weight yet…but I’m lucky to have such encouraging friends. Yes, I know it will eventually happen…and no, I’m not going to quit. Even if I don’t lose a pound…I’m in this for the long haul.
